Older drivers renewing their licenses present the opportunity for counter staff workers to ensure that the driver is safe to operate a vehicle. Additionally, anyone, including family members, law enforcement officers, and medical professionals, may refer an older driver for driver evaluation if they think the driver is at-risk. By accessing the following knowledge, tools, and resources to improve older driver safety, you can have a positive effect in your communities. For example:
- Learn the signs for when an older driver may be at-risk.
- Refer older drivers and their family members/caregivers to ChORUS to obtain information about how they can plan for safe mobility in their community.
- Provide ChORUS handouts to older drivers to plan for safe mobility – whether driving or not.
