The Older Adult Driver

American Family Physician’s website points out the country’s changing demographics and how it is estimated that by the year 2020, more than 15% of drivers will be older than 65. The post titled, “The Older Adult Driver,” also identifies how a driving assessment should be done by a family physician. Knowing a senior driver’s driving history, medication, possible medical and physiological issues are all topics that are covered, as well as, additional measures that should be taken to prevent injury while driving.
